Due to the ever-soaring requirement for sustainability in today’s world, the concept of recycling has increased in complexity over the past few decades. As a result of new and innovative packaging design comes the question of how the waste will be discarded. Packaging labels and recycling symbols are now appearing on lots of everyday items and help us to identify how different types of packaging can be recycled. However, it is worth remembering that not all packaging will have a recycling label but this doesn’t mean you can’t recycle it.

Final Trends for 2021

After such an unpredictable year amid the pandemic, consumers began to resume their normal routines. However, due to the volatility of the virus, it seems we are not completely in the clear. If anything, consumers are increasingly more cautious of what is to come. This level of unpredictability is evident throughout the whole supply chain ranging from the struggles of sourcing raw materials to the consumer directly. Bearing this in mind, ultimately there are some hot topics, such as sustainability, which continue to be at the forefront of the mind of the consumer, as well as new behaviours emerging as shown in recent trends with self-care and wellbeing taking priority.

Here's what we found at SCS Formulate 2021

Earlier this month we attended SCS Formulate in Coventry, in search of the latest trends and up and coming innovations in cosmetics science and the beauty and personal care industry. SCS Formulate is a two-day exhibition and is the UK's largest event of it's kind focusing on raw materials, ingredients and formulation services in personal care and cosmetic products. As a prime manufacturer, these types of events are super useful for our innovation and lab teams to attend.
