Each year over the Christmas period, Design Plus employees nominate a handful of local charities that they’d like to see our annual £1000 donation go to. From the nominations, two local charities are selected by our company directors, to receive a £500 cheque each.

The two charities that were selected this year are The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and Team Reece.

The Rainbow Trust supports families who have a child aged 0-18 with a life threatening or terminal illness and need bespoke support. The support they offer includes, sibling support, home support, hospital support and bereavement support, which can be anything from running a bath and reading bed time stories, to a simple phone call.

Laura Ashby Nominated the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and presented the £500 cheque to Sean Tansey.

Team Reece is a charity which was founded by 12-year-old Reece, who sadly passed away earlier this month, from terminal brain cancer. The charity aims to provide research funding and enable better treatment options and potential cures for childhood cancer, brain tumours and help fund new equipment for clinical trials. Reece was an inspirational young man, who has raised thousands of pounds for the organisation, amongst raising awareness. The local community and whole team at Design Plus has been touched by Reece’s story and we would like to continue to show our support at this extremely sad time.

We'd like to thank our employees for nominating some fantastic local charities and also thank both the charities for taking the time to meet with us.
