A family run business with a thriving raspberry farm looking to expand their business into skincare approached Design Plus in 2021, having been referred to us by one of our industry partners.
The customer needed help to increase their overall sustainability, by utilising their waste produce in the form of an alternative product; a serum. Design Plus were briefed with blending and filling the bottles with a formula provided by a partner lab.
Overcoming Challenges
The main challenge we faced along the way was a supply chain issue; the bottles arrived on site, however we had not received the formula to fill them. Our team worked closely with the partner lab to get the formula delivered swiftly so we could fulfil the brief and continue with the project. The account manager and operations team worked hard to resolve the problem and fortunately the project was complete within 8 months, only a short delay.
Ultimately, we produced 15,000 bottles across three product variants for the customer, and despite the supply chain delays, they’re very happy with the finished product.
Continued Partnership
After the success of the first phase, the customer continues to work with us on phase two. New formulations for two additional product variants have been briefed to our team, comprising of a mist and a balm, which is set to launch at the end of this year.
