Shift Manager

Design Plus Health & Beauty is the UK’s leading manufacturer of sachets for the Health & Beauty sector. As part of our continuing business development and growth we are looking to recruit a suitably experienced and qualified Shift Manager for our late shift. This is a key role, and the successful candidate will have full responsibility for ensuring the shift operates at maximum efficiency. The candidate must have experience of leading, managing and motivating a team in a manufacturing environment and preferably hold a Management/Supervisory qualification. Experience of using an ERP/MRP system and working to internationally recognised quality systems is required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure the hygiene, safety and housekeeping standards are maintained and/or improved in the Production areas.
  • To performance manage, monitor, and supervise the members of the Production Team.
  • To utilise DRM, Gemba and SIC and drive performance improvements in the Production area.
  • To ensure the Filling operation fulfil the requirements of the Master Production Schedule.
  • To ensure the maximum machine and labour efficiencies are achieved.
  • To ensure products are manufactured as per specification.
  • To ensure KPI targets are met.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Establish goals and objectives for self and team and implement accordingly.
  • Ensure all non-value-added activity is reduced in all processes by utilising continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Conduct and record performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Ensure the appropriate systems and processes are in place to measure and manage staff performance and to coach and develop a high-performance workforce.
  • To promote and maintain awareness and compliance of Health & Safety in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.
  • Display role model behaviour in line with Company values.

Training will be provided as to the company’s capabilities and ambitions and the Operations Director will support and guide as the candidate comes to understand the business.

Remuneration will include a benefits package, competitive salary and performance related bonus which will be available to the selected candidate appropriately based on their experience. 

Current working hours for this position - Monday to Thursday 12:00-22:00
